ENTREPRENEUR: Joe has helped start and scale several companies that raised millions in funding and secured millions in contracts -- including an exclusive contract with the federal government.

He has also worked with incredible teams from idea-to-exit, enhanced public policy at the highest levels and negotiated commercialization alliances with some of the world’s leading brands.

GEEK: A patent holder, Joe has authored methods addressing traceability, technology and security.

He has also motivated stellar inter-disciplinary teams to design data-driven solutions for systemic challenges in some of the most heated, complex, and rapidly transitioning environments, including:

-- water issues facing returnees from internally displaced people (IDP) camps in northern Uganda,

-- youth unemployment in Cairo, Egypt during the Arab Spring and, most recently,

-- Trans Criminal Organization (TCO) influence and gang directed violence in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, the most dangerous city in the world.

MENTOR: Joe helped start four accelerators (Corporate, University, Community, Social Venture) where he has mentored entrepreneurs, scientists, CEO's, professional athletes and elite members of the US military through the commercialization process

As a frequent lecturer on entrepreneurship, he speaks humorously from the trenches ("How I screwed up, and how you can too!" and "The last thing you want to do is write a plan") and was pleased to be part of Apple's Master's of Media speakers tour.

COACH:  Today, Joe coaches innovators and serves on several boards, including start-ups, a social venture incubator, USC's Faber Center for Entrepreneurship and the McNair Institute for Entrepreneurism and Free Enterprise.
